We Can All Help End Hunger
September is Hunger Action Month
For us, adventuring with purpose is more than just the next trail ahead. It's also our commitment to community. To do our part during September, we’re hosting a “Gear Up for Good” fundraiser and snack drive for the Food Bank for Larimer County, Sept. 19-21, three full shopping days of which 15% goes to Food Bank for Larimer County.
Hunger Action Month
Feeding America established September as Hunger Action Month back in 2007. The goal for the month is to raise awareness and provide nutritious food to those facing hunger. Now in its eighteenth year, this initiative unites neighbors, volunteers and food banks across the US.
Food insecurity touches every community across our nation including Northern Colorado where 11.9% of Larimer County residents face food insecurity. In fact, Food Bank for Larimer County, a Feeding America partner, provides food to more than 55,000 people each year.
Food Bank for Larimer County Facts (FY 2025):
- • Distributed enough food for 10 million meals
- • Served more than 55,000 individuals facing food insecurity (88,885 meals and snacks for kids and 24,581 meals to seniors)
- • Rescued 9.5 million pounds of food from landfills, including 3.6 million pounds from local retailers (44% was produce)
Why It Matters
“We are proud of the work we do, but we don’t do it alone. It takes partners, donors, supporters, a community -- and YOU – to achieve our goals,” said Amy Pezzani, CEO, Food Bank for Larimer County. “Our mission at the Food Bank for Larimer County is to provide food to all in need through community partnerships and hunger relief programs.”
This is where you come into the story. September is a time to get involved and contribute to making a positive impact for our neighbors and our community. You can help by fundraising, donating, and volunteering.
