How It All Began
Tellus was born from a shared commitment to community, conservation and responsible adventure.
Co-founders Joe and Melissa met while serving in the Peace Corps, working in some of the most remote and underserved communities. Their experiences reinforced one truth:

Decades later after working, exploring and raising a family, they founded Tellus, a social enterprise built on purpose, sustainability and giving back.
Founded in Fort Collins, Colorado—Tellus is surrounded by open spaces, wildlife habitat and public lands—places that remind us daily why our work matters.

At Tellus, we put thought into every step of our product development process. From selecting mills and factories to choosing fabrics and hardware, we carefully consider what's lighter on the planet and what converts waste into something useful.
We design eco-friendly outdoor gear made with recycled and organic materials. We seek fabrics that keep waste out of oceans and landfills. We work with bluesign® certified mills that operate without harmful chemicals or wasted energy. And our outerwear and travel bags are PFC-free.
